Royal Python
Royal python or Ball python
Python regius
Found in areas of West Africa, royal pythons are carnivores and eat live mice or small rats. In captivity we feed them dead food which includes adult mice or rats, when they are large enough to swallow them.
- Live up to 25-30 years.
- Egg layers they lay 8-10 eggs a year.
- Adults can reach lengths of 4 foot.
- Habitat being savannah, grassland.
- Nocturnal reptile.
Crazy Fact
Royal pythons are also called ball pythons because when they are disturbed or frightened they roll into a ball and bury their heads in the middle of themselves.
