Found in South America, the red foot tortoise is an omnivore and eats a variety of plants, fruits and weeds, but they also eat insects and carrion - dead animals. In captivity we give them a mixture of kale, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, carrot, cucumber, squash, etc and also some natural plants such as clover and dandelions and occasionally moist cat biscuits for protein.
- Living up to 50-75 years.
- Egg layers, they lay around 1-8 eggs a year.
- Adults will reach 40 centimetres.
- Habitat being rainforest floor.
- Diurnal reptile.

So named because of their distinctive red markings on their legs and round their head.
