Leopard Gecko
Leopard Gecko
Eublepharis macularius
Native to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, leopard geckos are insectivores - which means they eat insects. In captivity we feed them insects like crickets, mealworms and locusts.
- Live up to 12 years.
- Egg layers - laying 2 eggs 5 - 6 times a year.
- Adults can reach 20 centimetres.
- Habitat being deserts.
- Nocturnal reptile.
Crazy Fact
Leopard geckos can break off their tail. If a predator was to grab the lizard by the tail they have the ability to 'shed' the appendage and make it wriggle around whilst escaping.
The tail will also grow back again, but rarely as pretty or as long as their original tail.
