Found throughout the Central and South America, armadillos are considered carnivores as they forage for insects, spiders and small amphibians, they will also have carrion in their diet. We feed ours with a mixture of animal matter and a little vegetables and fruit for a more balanced and less fatty diet.
- Live up to 20 years.
- Live bearing they have around 4-8 babies a year.
- Adult Armadillos grow to around 40 centimetres.
- Habitat being deciduous woodland to open plains.
- Nocturnal mammal
Crazy Fact
If an Armadillo is unable to find a burrow to hide in, they roll into a ball to protect their soft under belly. They can be noisy too, often making loud grunting noises when eating.
