Found throughout Africa, the giant millipede is a herbivore and will happily enjoy eating slightly rotting fruit and vegetation. In captivity we feed them potato, apple, orange, sliced carrot and they especially enjoy tomatoes.
- Live up to 10 years.
- Egg layers, laying 20+ eggs a year.
- Adult Millipedes can grow to lengths of nearly 30 centimetres.
- Habitat being tropical rainforests.

Crazy Fact
Millipedes defend themselves by 'sweating' a cyanide based liquid through pores in their body and excreting this as a waste. This is not a problem to humans due to the tiny amounts, but it can cause a skin reaction if it is not washed off.
