Hissing Cockroach
Gromphadorhina portentosa

Found on the island of Madagascar, hissing cockroaches are herbivorous detritivore - eat a diet of rotting fruit, vegetables and plant matter. In captivity we give them sliced potato, carrot, apple & oranges.


Crazy Fact

Cockroaches are almost invincible - they can have their head cut off and still survive for up to a month without a head. This is because they have two brains - one in their head and one in their abdomen.
